Music
Matt Seattle Band
Musician, composer, writer, publisher and music historian Matt Seattle brings his four-piece band to the Eastgate for the first time. Although born in Kent, Matt is an expert on Border and Northumbrian pipe and fiddle music, and has become one of the best-known players of the sweet-sounding Border Pipes. Re-visiting many traditional tunes as well as playing some of Matt's self-penned pieces, the band are literally "a breath of fresh air". "It really does seem, when one hears his playing, that the two loose ends of a piping tradition have been picked up and tied together again so that they are an unbroken thread once more."
